Full list of Obama's 2016 endorsements

The following issues were listed on Carbajal's campaign website. For a full list of campaign themes, click here.

  • Fighting for the Middle Class: Many Middle Class Americans are struggling. They work hard and yet feel like they are falling further behind. I am running for Congress to fight for these working class families because I personally understand that struggle.
  • Creating Good Paying Jobs: No one who works full time should live in poverty. We have to create more opportunities for people to lift themselves into the middle class and stay there.
  • Caring For Our Veterans: Our veterans and their families face more challenges today than ever before after they return home from their service. In Congress, I will work to honor their service by tackling those challenges head on and make sure they receive the support they need.
  • Strengthening Security in Retirement: Seniors have earned Social Security and Medicare. They have paid into the system throughout their working lives and deserve those benefits in retirement.
  • Helping Our Students Achieve a Higher Education: Middle-class families are struggling to send their children to college because it is unaffordable. It’s outrageous that so many students and their families have to take on crushing amount of debt just to get the education they need to compete in our economy.
