Skinner served in the California State Assembly, representing District 15 from 2008 to 2014.
Biography
Skinner's professional experience includes serving on the Berkeley City Council from 1984 to 1992. She founded Cities for Climate Protection and the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives-Local Governments for Sustainability. As of 2014, Skinner was a member of the Community Conservation Centers Incorporated Board and the David Brower Center Board.[1]

Elections for the California State Senate took place in 2016. The primary election was held on June 7, 2016, and the general election was held on November 8, 2016. The candidate filing deadline was February 25, 2016, for candidates filing with signatures. The deadline for candidates using a filing fee to qualify was March 11, 2016.[2] Incumbent Loni Hancock (D) did not seek re-election.
