Lori Wilson was elected to the Assembly on April 5th in a special election. She is committed to fighting for the residents of California’s 11th Assembly District with a track record of creating good jobs, keeping the community safe and improving the quality of life for all her constituents.

Previously, she was the first Black female Mayor to serve in all of Solano County. First elected to the Suisun City Council in 2012, she served as Vice-Mayor for six years before winning the Mayor’s race in 2018.

During her tenure, she worked tirelessly to make Suisun City a welcoming and safe place to call home. Lori has a track record of fiscal responsibility while leading efforts to bring more housing, jobs and diversity to Suisun City.

Lori is a graduate of California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accountancy. Her diverse career history, including more than 20 years in Accounting & Finance, has afforded Lori tremendous opportunities to hone her skills in government and nonprofit management, strategic development and budget administration.

A native Californian raised on the west side of Fresno, Lori is married to her high school sweetheart Chavares Wilson, a retired Air Force Reserve Technical Sergeant. They have been blessed with two sons, Tyler and Kiren, and a daughter-in-law, Brittney. They have enjoyed living in Suisun City since 2004 after being stationed at Travis AFB for 5 years.

  • Housing: Everyone needs an affordable place to live. That’s why as Mayor, I built a diverse housing portfolio, from affordable to high-end housing, building near transit centers to reduce commutes, and so young families can build roots in the area.
  • Healthcare & Mental Health: I'll fight for investments in mental health, and will expand affordable health coverage to make sure everyone in California has access to the care they need to live healthy and productive lives.
  • Quality of Life: I'll look for ways to improve the quality of life for everyone, from education, climate, childcare, etc. Everyone has a right to a high quality of life and to define what that looks like for them. My job is help make it possible.

I am passionate about Housing, Mental Health, and all issues impacting Quality of Life. I believe everyone has a right to a high quality of life, everyone has a right to define what that looks like for themselves, and my job is to facilitate that. Quality of Life issues touch on everything, from education, to transportation, to the environment, to banking, to childcare, to education, and the list goes on and on.

Yes, it has been said "It's not what is best for you, or even what it best for me, but it is what is best for the situation."

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in California

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
