Alabama ballot measures come in only one variety:

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Article XVIII of the Alabama Constitution states that it takes a three-fifths (60%) vote of the Alabama State Legislature to qualify an amendment for the ballot.
  • Amendments can originate in either the House or the Senate.
  • Notice of the fact that an election on a proposed amendment is going to take place must be published in each county of the state for at least eight successive weeks prior to the election.
