|Hi, I'm Joshua Bocanegra, a Latinx entrepreneur who's been in the technology field for over 10 years.
I have founded multiple businesses, failed at some, and learned from all of them. I've learned how to be self-disciplined, self-reliant, and to keep pushing no matter what people say.
I’m running because I want to fight for the people like me, who are ambitious and believe they can achieve what they set out to achieve, despite all odds.
There are many issues to tackle, and I believe it takes an outsider with my experiences who can offer a new perspective and fresh ideas.
My promise to Californians and to the American people is that I will listen carefully to others and bring different points of view together.
I will do my research and make data-driven decisions focused on the facts. If the data isn't there, I will push for more research on the subject until it's clear where the evidence leads us.
All of which, I have done over the years in business and in my life, and I will do the same for our nation.
- We need to increase the national minimum wage adjusted for inflation. If the cost of living goes up, so does that minimal wage.
- It's time to adopt the latest technologies at scale. Innovative solutions in VR, AI and cryptocurrency have the potential to resolve some of the biggest issues we face today.
- Around 30% of Americans identify as non-religious, I’m one of them. We need more non-religious representation in government so that legislation isn't religiously-biased. This is also important for religious people who don't want government favoring the ideals of one religion over another.
The areas of public policy I'm personally passionate about are small businesses, better education, protecting a woman’s right to choose, access to mental health care, sex-positive education, increasing the minimal wage, affordable housing, and technological innovation.
